Nicolás Eduardo Buitrago Rey is currently a Juridical Science Doctor (J.S.D.) Candidate at Notre Dame Law School. He earned his law degree with a Diploma in International Law and Human Rights from El Rosario University (Colombia). He graduated summa cum laude from the LL.M in International Human Rights Law at Notre Dame Law School (USA), cum laude from the Master’s Degree in International Studies, and cum laude from the Master's Degree in International Law at Los Andes University (Colombia). Mr. Buitrago has worked as a Research Associate and Research Assistant at the Notre Dame Reparations Design and Compliance Lab of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies, Research Assistant at Peace Accord Matrix of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, Visiting Scholar (Leibniz Fellowship) at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Germany), Lecturer in International Law and Constitutional Law at El Rosario University, and as a Research Assistant of the International Law Research Group of El Rosario University.
